28 March 2009 - Fibrecity rolls out 100Mbps broadband via fibre optic network
The Fibrecity project has connected the first 50 homes in the UK south coast town of Bournemouth to its next generation "up to 100Mbps" fibre optic (FTTH) broadband network.
Bournemouth is the first of 15 town and city-wide fibre networks being built across the UK by Fibrecity over the next ten years.
"Fibrecity rolls out nationwide fibre optic network connecting at least 2,000 homes per week to deliver 40Mbps community broadband services and 100Mbps connectivity to deliver next generation services including IPTV"
